Brandi Hucko, Principal |
Dear New-to-Stocklmeir Families,
Welcome to our school! Stocklmeir is a neighborhood school within the Cupertino Union School district. We have a diverse school population and about 25% of our students are English Language Learners. Our TK-5th grade teachers are dedicated to supporting each child - socially, emotionally and academically. Our teaching staff is supported by a librarian, technology specialist, instructional assistants, counselors, and Special Education staff. Our front office staff, nutrition services staff, and custodial staff are all committed to ensuring an enjoyable and safe learning experience for all students. Our curriculum and programs are aligned with California Common Core Standards. Please continue reading for more information about our current school programs:
School Start and End Times
School begins at 8:30AM for all students, every day. Students may not be on campus before 8:15AM. Our TK-3rd grade students are dismissed at 2:35PM every day except Tuesday, when they are dismissed at 2:00PM. Our 4th-5th grade students are dismissed at 3:05PM every day except Tuesday. All students are dismissed at 2:00PM every Tuesday and our school staff will not be able to provide supervision for students after 2:00PM, so please make arrangements to pick up children at 2:00PM on Tuesdays.
New TK/K Families
We’ve created this slide deck to share with families of our youngest students, who may not have had any school experience in CUSD. We hope you find it helpful.
After School Care
On campus after school care is provided by outside vendors who lease our space from CUSD. You may contact Champions at: ch001647@discoverychampions.com or 408-665-9444 and Catalyst Kids at: 408 732-2008.
Volunteering at Stocklmeir
We welcome parent volunteers on campus to help with classroom activities including class parties and other special events. Additionally, in accordance with CUSD Board Policy, parent volunteers are required to attend off-campus field trips in order to assist with student supervision. In order to be cleared to become a school volunteer, please contact Joan Aoki at joan_aoki@cusdk8.org or 408-732-3363, ext. 81116. Fingerprinting only needs to be done once per person, is valid for your student’s tenure in CUSD schools, and may take several weeks to process, so the earlier you begin the process, the better!
Please Join our PTA
Stocklmeir has a friendly and supportive Parent Teacher Association (PTA) who together, work to provide programs to support the whole child. Through donations, our PTA funds our CSMA Arts (TK-5) and Music (TK-3) programs. Our 4th and 5th grade students receive music instruction from a CUSD credentialed music teacher. Our PTA also organizes meaningful and enriching community events for our families - just a few examples of these include: Panda Picnic, Family Movie Night, Winter Wonderland, STEM Fair, Family Math Night, and Bingo Night. Please consider becoming a PTA Member and attending the General Association (GA) Meetings that occur about every other month. If you’d like to be more involved, we welcome your participation on a PTA committee - join us at a GA Meeting to learn more. Visit our PTA website at: https://www.stocklmeirpta.org/
Reporting Delays or Absences
School starts promptly at 8:30AM. If your student is late, please accompany them to the Front Office to get a late slip to bring to the teacher when they enter class.
It is important for your child to attend school each day, even if they need to arrive late or leave mid-day in order to attend a doctor’s appointment. If your student comes to school late because of a doctor’s appointment, when you accompany your child to the Front Office, please present a note from the doctor’s office to the Front Office staff so that we may excuse the delay.
If your student is absent, call the Attendance Line at 408-732-3363, ext 6. When you know in advance that your child will be absent, fill out a Parent Report of Absence form on the Stocklmeir website.
Our first day of school is August 17, 2023. We’re thrilled to have you join our Stocklmeir Family! It’s great to be a Panda!
Sincerely,
Principal Brandi Hucko and Assistant Principal Alicia Mommer
